December 1, 2006, Newsletter Issue #28: Warm Water Relief for Arthritis

Tip of the Week

Exercising in water is less stressful to the joints and it's still quite beneficial to the body. That's why the Arthritis Foundation recommends exercising in a spa, and so do many doctors and health experts. Water makes the body more buoyant (you weigh about 90 percent less in water than you do on land), and reduces stress on joints and muscles. Exercising in water is also fun, which makes it much more pleasant for people who don't enjoy exercising. Exercise can lead to increased blood flow and heart health, weight loss, and a wide variety of benefits. A hot tub for arthritis sufferers can lead to increased motion and less pain, which is the best benefit ever!
